Watermark
Watermark overlays a persistent, user-specific mark on the pages your users visit, so any screenshot or recording can be traced back to the person who captured it. It is rendered by the DefensX browser extension and requires no changes to the websites being visited.

Configuring the Watermark
Navigate to Policies → Watermark. The page shows a live preview with a settings drawer on the right, containing the Repeat, Content, Appearance and Layout sections. Every change appears in the preview as you make it. Click Save at the top of the drawer to apply the configuration.

Under Repeat, choose Tile to repeat the pattern across the whole page, or Single to display one badge at one position.

Content
Under Content, choose what the watermark displays. Email shows the user’s full email address and User ID shows their internal watermark identifier, neither of which needs any further configuration.

Text lets you build the watermark yourself, and is the only option that supports a logo. Each line you enter becomes a separate row, and the rows can be aligned left, center or right.
You can use {email}, {username}, {email_or_username}, {userid}, {date} and {datetime} as placeholders. {email_or_username} suits mixed environments, falling back to the Windows login username where no email address is available.

Appearance
Under Appearance, set the Opacity and Angle of the watermark, and the Size of its text. Choose a Font and a text Color, and optionally a Background Color behind each tile or badge. To outline them, set a Border Color and a Border Width above zero.

Layout
Under Layout, set Animation to Static to keep the watermark in place, or to Moving to have it jump to a random position at the Interval you set, in seconds. A moving watermark is harder to crop out of a screenshot.
With Single and Static, use Position to place the badge at a corner, an edge or the center of the page, then the Horizontal space and Vertical space sliders to shift it from there:

Enabling the Watermark
Once the watermark is configured, enable it for the Custom URL Groups you want it to appear on.
Navigate to Policies → Policy Groups and open the relevant policy group. Click Web Filters, find the Custom URL Groups you want to watermark, and select the Watermark checkbox next to each one.
Summary
Watermark can be configured to show user identity, timestamps and your logo, either tiled across the page or as a single badge, and then applied to the Custom URL Groups that need it.
