Licensing

How is DefensX licensed?

DefensX licenses are allocated based on the number of protected users, protected devices, or a combination of both. The licensing framework includes the following rules:

  • A single user can be associated with one business device and up to two personal devices.

  • Any unassociated device (i.e., a protected device without an assigned user) still consumes a license.

  • If a user becomes inactive and no signal is received from any of their devices for 30 consecutive days, DefensX will automatically release the license.

  • User metadata is retained in the backend for 90 days after license removal, after which it is permanently deleted.

  • Devices that have been uninstalled (i.e., DefensX has been removed) are retained in the backend for tracking and auditing purposes, but do not consume a license.

This model ensures secure, efficient, and automated license management aligned with modern, dynamic workforces.
