Migrating A Customer From Other Partners

In this document
  • Step-1: Creating the migration token
  • Step-2: Migrating the customer to the new Partner

It is possible to transfer a customer to another partner within DefensX. The migration process can be completed in two steps with support from both partners.

Here is an example scenario:

  • Customer-X is currently managed by Partner-1

  • Partner-1 agrees to transfer Customer-X to another partner named Partner-2.

Step-1: Creating the migration token

  • Partner-1 opens their DefensX Backend and navigates to the Customers menu in the left pane.

  • Click on the name of Customer-X to access the main customer screen.

  • Click on the Migration button to enter the migration token management page.

  • Click on the Generate Token button to create a new migration token.

  • Copy the generated token value and send it to the Partner-2

Tip
If you decide to disable the migration after generating a migration token, you can also use the Delete Token option in this menu to remove the token and disable the migration.

Step-2: Migrating the customer to the new Partner

  • Partner-2 receives the migration token from the Partner-1.

  • Partner-2 opens their DefensX Backend and navigates to Customers menu from the left pane.

  • Click on the Import by Token button from the top-right

  • Paste the received migration token value and click on the Migrate button.

Important
If you enter too many incorrect tokens during this step, the system will automatically disable the migration for a certain period of time. If this occurs, you will need to wait and try again later.
