Limit Access by IP in DefensX Backend
DefensX provides the capability to restrict access to its backend screens based on IP addresses. This feature can be configured at both the customer and partner levels, allowing granular control over who can access the backend.
Customer Level Configuration
To limit access by IP address at the customer level, follow these steps:
-
Navigate to Customer Settings: Log in to DefensX and navigate to the specific customer context where you want to apply the IP address restrictions.
-
Access Backend Settings: Once in the customer context, go to Settings → Backend Access.
-
Enable Backend Access Restriction: Select "Backend access restricted" and set it to Yes. This enables the IP address restriction feature for this customer.
-
Add Allowed IP Addresses: Under the IP address restriction settings, add all the IP addresses that you want to allow to access the backend services.
-
Save Changes: After adding the IP addresses, click on the Save button to apply the changes.
Partner Level Configuration
If you want to enable backend access restriction for your partner account, follow these additional steps:
-
Switch to Self-Customer Context: As a partner, switch to your Self-Customer context within DefensX.
-
Repeat Customer Level Configuration: Follow the same procedure outlined above for the customer level configuration. This includes navigating to Settings → Backend Access, enabling backend access restriction, adding allowed IP addresses, and saving the changes.
By configuring IP address restrictions at the customer and partner levels, you can enhance the security of your DefensX backend by controlling access based on trusted IP addresses.
Tip
|
Backend access restrictions only affect accessing the DefensX backend as an administrator; it does not affect the connections of the deployed agents or end-users. |
