Datto RMM Deployment

In this document
  • Install DefensX Scripts From ComStore
  • Customizing the script variables

DefensX has Install and Uninstall scripts for MSPs to deploy the DefensX Agent using Datto RMM. These scripts allow MSPs to import, set up deployment keys and system variables, and install the client.

Install DefensX Scripts From ComStore

Windows Installer Script v1.2 Update

A new update for the DefensX Installer Script for Windows has been submitted for approval. It is not yet available in the Component Store. In the meantime, you can download the latest script, DefensX_Datto_v1.2.ps1, from the right panel and incorporate it into your local components.

You can add DefensX scripts from the Datto ComStore. Open the Automation → ComStore page and type DefensX in the top search bar. You can add both DefensX Script Components for Windows and Mac after that.

Customizing the script variables

Once the DefensX scripts are added to your Components, you can use them with Datto Jobs to install or uninstall the DefensX Agent.

You can change the following variables for the installation jobs
  • KEY: This should be the key copied from under the Policies & Groups page in the DefensX backend.

  • DISABLE_UNINSTALL: When it is checked, DefensX Agent can not be uninstalled via the Add or Remove Programs menu.

  • SYSTEM_COMPONENT: When it is checked, DefensX Agent will not be listed in the Add or Remove Programs menu.
