DefensX Usage & Active Billing Policy

Active Utilization Billing

Billing is calculated strictly on real-time activity within any given month. There is no pre-purchased pool of licenses. Devices and users that show no activity or send no telemetry signals during a calendar month simply do not generate charges and are not billed.

Device Pairing & Standalone Endpoints

  • User Allocation: A single active user can be associated with one primary corporate device and up to two personal devices under a single billing footprint.

  • Unassociated Devices: Any protected endpoint running the agent that is not explicitly linked to a user profile will count as a separate billable line item.

  • Uninstalled Agents: Endpoints where the DefensX agent has been uninstalled will remain visible in the console for historical tracking, auditing, and log integrity, but they do not generate any billing charges.

Data Retention & Record Purging

To preserve log continuity and meet compliance audit requirements, inactive records are retained temporarily before permanent deletion, completely independent of billing status:

  • Inactive Devices: Remain visible in the dashboard for 90 days before automatic removal.

  • Inactive Users: Remain visible in the dashboard for 150 days before automatic removal.

How can I see the license consumption?

Can I use different subscription packages for the same customer?

Yes, that is possible. You can attach licenses automatically to different user groups.

Go to Management/Settings —> Subscriptions and you can attach subscriptions based on user groups. Any new member of the attached group will automatically be assigned related subscription.

If I define a trial account, do I need to convert it to an active subscription manually?

You can always manually change the subscription type from in_trial to active anytime during the trial period. If you don’t do that at the end of the trial period it will be automatically converted to an active subscription.

How can I attach a subscription to a customer?

In your MSP console click on the Customers on the left menu and then click on to the Add Subscriptions box.

Why switch to Core+ ?

Core+ brings zero-trust file management capabilities. You will be able to control what type of files can be uploaded or downloaded to certain websites. Also, it is possible to define which user groups can upload or download files.

Core+ comes with an embedded sandbox, which let’s you to apply policies based on filetypes (mime-type)

What are the package details and differences?
